Xinjiang Hetian jade originates along the Kunlun Mountains. The Yulong Kashi River and Karakash River in Hotan yield high-quality seed jade; Ruoqiang produces distinctive blue-yellow jade, Qiemo is rich in mountain jade with good oiliness, and Taxkorgan is famous for its "Taxqing" (blackish-green jade).
